I have been truly amazed and humbled over the years at the flood of positive feedback for my work. These comments, and others too numerous to post, have filled my spirit and fueled the fires of my creativity. Any time the enemy tempts me to doubt my writing ministry, all I need do is savor the sincere and heartfelt words of those who’ve been touched by my books. Here is a sampling.

I think Not by Sight was one of the best plot twists you’ve come up with yet. I really only put it down when I literally fell asleep with the book in my hand and jerked myself awake a time or two. I had to wait tilt the next day to finish and was pretty sad when it was over. Can’t wait to see who will be the main character of book two … No wonder you are number 10 on CBA’s bestseller list in your first week! You rock! Susan M

I’m reading Not By Sight, and Elliot’s statement to Kate spoke to my heart. “Kate, I’m your friend. I’m not here to weigh your baggage. I’d like to help you carry it.” I’ve had four friends like that in this world. One of them went to be with the Lord almost three years ago and I still find myself picking up the phone to call her with my tears, fears and praises …You write what the Holy Spirit lays on your heart and have no idea how it will be used. I wanted to let you know that one or two lines in the middle of a novel can have a major impact on lives around you. Keep doing what you do best, Kathy – listening to the One who gave you the talent. Nealette Z.

Kathy, I just read Not by Sight and I just want you to know your book does justice{to the beautiful area of northwest Arkansas]!!!….tears, smiles, and hope soared through me as I read this book…you are an inspirational writer and I, as a Christian, appreciate what you do…thank you very much!! Sabrina S.

I read Not by Sight when I was on vacation. It was wonderful. I couldn’t put it down. Looking forward to the next book. I also loved the Roux River Bayou series. Being from South Louisiana it drew me in. And of course I had to go back and read the Sophie Trace series to see how it all started. I will be reading other series while I wait for the sequel to Not by Sight. Margaret S.

After reading False Pretenses I was brought back to something I had lost years ago. GRACE … THANK YOU! Anonymous

I always love finding a new author. I have just finished my 1st Kathy Herman book, False Pretenses. WOW! I love a good mystery, but to have the characters at different stages of their relationship with God was touching on SO many levels. Haven’t we all been closer or farther away from our personal relationship with God at times? It was nice to be reminded of His lesson of forgiveness too. I thank God who is the Giver for giving you this Gift. Diana T.

Kathy, I don’t know how you have time to write these wonderful novels and answer everyone who writes to you. I just finished Dangerous Mercy. Your books just keep getting better! I am starting on my 6th book by you. I do believe my faith is growing because of your inspirational writing. What a special gift you have been given and you share that gift with all of us who read your books. GOD bless you, Kathy. Beverly D

I’ve just finished my review of this incredible story Relentless Pursuit. I’m still teary. This is your most multi-layered and powerful book yet — storyline, characterization, pacing, dialogue, action, the works. So beautifully done. You’ve dug even deeper on an emotional and spiritual level. This story is truly God-breathed. It shows from first page to last. Diane N.

Hello Kathy-I am reading my first book of yours: Relentless Pursuit, and I am over half-way done. I can’t wait to turn the next page and at the same time don’t want it to ever end!! The characters are so real and easy to relate to ,story line is captivating and inspiring … I am already looking for the next book to devour as soon as I finish this one! I have a new Kindle and hope I can get them for it! I thank God for authors like you, that writes not only for entertainment but also in words that we can use in our everyday life. God Bless you. One of THE best books of the summer … Kathy Herman’s Relentless Pursuit is the last book in her extremely popular Secrets of Roux River Bayou series. Better go back and read False Pretenses and Dangerous Mercy if you haven’t yet! An UNBELIEVABLY Good Read! Jeanne W.

Wow, received Relentless Pursuit yesterday, finished it today! It was excellent! I have read every one of your books and simply love your style of writing! Love the mystery, suspense and of course that Christ is given all the glory and an honored guest in each book. Can’t wait for your next series. Judy Y.

Lady, you’ve outdone yourself [on the Secrets of Roux River Bayou Series] … looking forward to what God gives you next…your books always leave me praising Him! Laura S.

I just finished Dangerous Mercy, the second in the Secrets of Roux River Bayou Series. It was wonderful and it certainly challenged me through Adele’s outlook and willingness to be a witness even during danger. I look forward to reading Relentless Pursuit. Judy E.

Just finished reading Dangerous Mercy and am anxious to read Relentless Pursuit. I’ll be sorry to see this series end. The books are hard for me to put down to get anything else done. Really have enjoyed them! Mary K.

False Pretenses was amazing!!! I literally stayed up until 3 a.m. on a workday to finish it! Kim P

I am not a person who burns the midnight oil to finish a book, because it throws my sleep patterns all off … However, I made an exception last night and stayed up to finish False Pretenses! What a great book! I am so looking forward to the next one, and mystery and suspense books aren’t usually my genre … this book had everything…loved the setting, the characters, the romance, the suspense! Fantastic book, Kathy!! Diana F

With a smile on his face, my husband said False Pretenses was a “terrible” book—you can’t put it down! Thanks, Kathy, for a page turner!!! Leora C

I finished Relentless Pursuit today. LOVED it. So glad to hear that two of the characters are going to be in the next series. Thanks Kathy for the trip to the bayou! Gail R.

I Just finished Relentless Pursuit. Great journey and was not disappointed …Kathy Herman style is the greatest read!!! Hilda E.
Dear Kathy: I just finished reading The Real Enemy. It was the third book of yours in 3 days I could not put down. Thank you for sending us moral/ scriptural lessons through your characters lives. It speaks louder than preaching. I had been holding on to hurt, betrayal and bitterness for years, though I tried to pray about not being angry. It withheld love and blessings in my life and I am letting go, because it is time!! Thank you!!A sister in Christ, Rebecca N.
* * *
Kathy, I just this second finished The Real Enemy. What a page-turner. So typical of your books! So many thought provoking issues in this book… Connie
* * *
I just finished reading The Real Enemy … Bitterness, forgiveness, good for evil – great themes. This is going to help someone, I know it. And it just might be your best book ever. These stories touch my heart and make me proud to sell them. Susan M, LifeWay Christian Store.

Dear Kathy, I wanted to thank you very much for The Last Word!! God has gifted you with a powerful ability to proclaim the gospel and to encourage believers to share their faith!! I thank God for this book and how He’s used you. It was a very strong encouragement to me … “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Cor.15:57,58. With love, Anne R

Kathy, I just wanted to let you know that I just finished reading the Sophie Trace Trilogy on my Kindle… you are a very talented writer. God has given you a great gift, not only to write books that grab people and keep their interest to the point of determent of sleep, but also to incorporate God and THE GOSPEL in a wonderful way. It’s clear to me that if a non-believer picked up you book and gave it a chance… they would have no choice but to take another look at Christ’s love and what He’s done for us … Sarah M

Kathy, I’m at a bittersweet moment. I’ve almost finished reading the last book in the Sophie Trace Trilogy. I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait till the next series comes out. I have enjoyed every single one of your books. I really do appreciate the cleanliness, morals and acknowledgement of the daily workings of the Almighty Father! I look forward to reading all your books as God allows. I pray that He blesses you richly as you endeavor to entertain without the use of immoral overtones. Thank you for sharing your talent with us! Julie W

Kathy, I have just read The Last Word, the first of your books that I have come across. I have to say that it was highly inspirational as it weaves a true spiritual nature into the reality of the real world. My recent personal struggles have left me seeking solace and a deeper relationship with God and I feel that this book has been helpful to me. I really look forward to reading more of your books. Thank you so much for writing. Jennifer

I loved the Sophie Trace Trilogy from the minute I started reading it. The characters became like another family to me. I can’t wait to read the others-especially The Right Call. I also liked the way you wove scripture and the plan of salvation into the stories. I shall share with my friends. Cheryl

I just finished The Last Word and my eyes are red and nose is running like crazy. It touched my heart in ways you may never know. You see, I’m dying. I have an incurable disease called ALS, aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease. I have had it for 5 years, which is better than most. 5 years is usually the best case, but I know God is control and allowing a slow progression. Since the beginning I have always said, if my suffering causes one person to find and accept Jesus then it’s all worth it. I thought my positive attitude and love for Jesus would be enough, but your book has thought me that I need to say more. I can’t talk due to my disease, but I can type and use a speech machine. So from today forward my Facebook page and carepages site will share more of Jesus then just how He is working in my life. Thank you for your faithfulness and I look forward to reading more of your work. God Bless you! Steve B

THE LAST WORD was one of your best I think. Not only because of the element of surprise, but for the content of the book itself. I found myself thinking, “I want my granddaughter to read this too.” There is a lot to be said for all that is involved when a young woman “gives” her love to someone and hasn’t counted the full cost of the deposit that is being made. I loved the element of surprise toward the end and the way it was told. You keep me buying books because I always know that this will be a good one. ….. Keep um coming! Georgeanna

Dear Kathy, I just finished the Phantom Hollow Series, and you are just the cream of the crop!!!! I loved every one of those books and only wish they were each 500 pages long. I could read about those characters forever!!’ You’re e awesome. On to the Baxter series. I can’t wait!!!! Carole

I just finished Ever Present Danger and would be hard pressed to choose one of your books as my favorite, for I have enjoyed every one of them. What impresses me about your books is the depth of the characters who I truly feel like I get to know. May the Lord protect you from weariness or discouragement, and strengthen you with new insights and truths from His word. Looking .forward to the next one. Penny C

Ever Present Danger was very well written. The plot was riveting! How many individuals are holding onto secrets that are so horrible that their whole life has been crippled? I am a teacher in a mental health hospital. My students are the teen residents committed to the hospital for long term treatment. They have histories of drug addiction, immorality, vandalism, truancy, etc. Almost all of them are harboring secrets about themselves or their families. It has kept them in bondage. I plan on putting a copy of Ever Present Danger on my bookshelf next fall to have available for my students. I keep a few carefully chosen books on my bookshelf and pray for the Lord to get them into the hands and hearts of the students who would be open to the message of hope through Christ. Keep writing and God bless you! Diana B

I just finished reading the Phantom Hollow series. They were all 3 outstanding!!! I finally found my favorite Christian author!!! I can’t put the books down thank you sooo much for all your hard work … Thank you for helping me to grow closer to the Lord and keeping me on the edge of my seat as I read!!! Deb

I have just discovered your books. I am 1/3 of the way through THE GRAND SCHEME. I cannot put these books down. I am 51 years old and love to ready suspense novels, but hate the language and sex in most of the books that I see in the stores. Thank you for writing such good books with such meaningful lessons to be learned from each one … thanks again for the ministry that you have been given by God. Debbie
* * *
Hi Kathy, I just finished Never Look Back. I absolutely loved it! As usual you kept my spastic brain’s attention. I am so glad that I thought ahead and previously purchased The Grand Scheme. I will begin it this evening. I admire your gift so much and especially am grateful for the wisdom the Lord has given you. I can’t wait for your new series!” Lori D

Dear Mrs. Herman: I just finished The Grand Scheme and loved it…thank you for keeping me guessing while still finding a way to entertain, inspire, and even sometimes convict me. You are a gifted storyteller and wonderful character developer… Sincerely, Maranna

I am almost 39 years old and until I found your Phantom Hollow Series, I hardly ever even cracked a book for pleasure. The only time I read anything is when I HAD to. I started the series less than 30 days ago and am so hooked on the characters in the book that I just started the last book. Because of you I have read more books in the last 30 days than I have in the last 30 years … I cannot wait to read your other books! Aimee

I finished reading The Baxter Series, and am now on book 2 of Phantom Hollow. I have always loved mystery, suspense, etc., and it is so nice to be able to read top quality novels without the profanity, and WITH the message of grace, forgiveness, etc. all the things our Lord offers those who will trust in Him. God is using you in a mighty way! Please keep it up! Rick

As I reached chapter 35 of Day of Reckoning, I decided I need to write to you NOW, even though it’s 10:20 PM, bedtime for a 75-year-old man. Bottom line is I thank God for you… What splendid writing skills God has given you, and how masterfully you have employed them … Add me to the list of what I am sure are countless other believers who hold you before the throne of grace in prayer. Charles

I go to a Christian school and I’m in the seventh grade. I have always been a self proclaimed “Christian” but had never gotten close to God. My friend read one of your books and recommended it to me, and ever since I’ve been unable to stop reading … I hope you know how much you touched my life with your books. They are helping me get a closer personal relationship with God. I can never thank you enough… In His name, Alison V.

Kathy, I just finished reading A Shred of Evidence. I am almost speechless. I have so much to say to you, though I just can’t begin to say it all right now. That was an amazing book that was SO God inspired. Thank you soooooooo much for hearing from God and being obedient with your writing, because I have no doubt that he is using you in a mighty way. Hello Kathy –we have been together for many hours now and I feel like we’ve become friends … You really saved the best in the Seaport Series to the last one Not By Chance — not much got done on my list of things to do while I was reading this gripping story!!! …I am the library coordinator in the largest Presbyterian Church in Canada and my Family Library is full of great authors. Welcome to the “Best of the Best” list I post!!! Keep up your great work. I’ll wait for the next series coming out soon. In friendship, Lynn L

… I have just finished reading Not By Chance, the end of the wonderful Seaport Suspense novels. I am always so pleased at how you are able to use so much of the gospel in your writing. I am sure you have made more of a difference in people’s lives than you will ever know this side of heaven. You will meet people there who are there because of your writing. Praying that Christ may be seen in me. In Him, Gerry G
* * *
Kathy, I have read all of the Baxter Series and am now on the Seaport novels. HONESTLY, THESE ARE SOME OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ. I am so blessed by each book and the message that you impart. The characters are real and the issues timely. Thank you. Carol C
* * *
All Things Hidden was actually the first book of yours that I have read. The cover caught my eye and I’m so glad it did. All I can say is WOW!!! I could not put the book down. I laughed and cried all the way through it. My kids and husband kept asking me what the book was about because they would hear me laugh or see my wipe a tear. I would fill them in when something exciting would happen and they would ask me each night what new was happening in the book… I’m hooked now and can’t wait to get my next book. Lori Y
* * *
Kathy, once I get into your books, it is very hard for me to put them down. My two college-aged daughters read your books as well as my mother and sister-in-law. I have always liked intrigue and suspense books, but finding inspirational books with intrigue is the best of both. I couldn’t wait to find All Things Hidden after I had read Eye of the Beholder. Now I am looking forward to reading your new book, Not By Chance … Best of luck with your future novels and remember that there are those of us who are inspired with your works. Terri C
* * *
…I just finished the last in the Seaport Series, Not by Chance. It is SO good. Sure makes one realize what a purpose we each have on earth… May God bless you and your family and keep those “juices” flowing. Irene J

Dear Kathy, I just read Eye of the Beholder…WHAT A BOOK! Every page was wonderful and the suspense you created was enchanting… This is, I believe, the fifth novel of yours that I have enjoyed. Each one has been an experience and causes one to stretch the mind to encompass every character. Rosemary D

I just wanted to let you know that the book All Things Hidden was so well written! I really enjoyed it a lot. I am a CNA in a nursing home, so I could relate to Lawrence’s Alzheimer’s disease. What a terrible way to live, but it really gave a good insight to the readers who don’t know what it’s all about. Thank you so much for another good read and I can’t wait to read the next one. God Bless you! Nancy B
* * *
I just finished reading All Things Hidden and, again, I just loved it! I always suggest your books to my Christian (and all my non-Christian reader) friends. They always leave me feeling like I just had a long visited with a treasured friend. Your books are about common people with common problems and trials and I love the way they work them out through the love of Jesus and His word. I hope you can continue to write for years to come. Thank you for sharing your insights with the lost world. Maybe one of your books will find its way into someone’s hands that needs to hear the good news. Penny J
* * *
I have read them all…I have enjoyed each one and have gleamed a bit of wisdom from each one. In each book I have been able to relate to one or more of the characters and can see things in a different light — especially Eye of the Beholder. Thank you for your books and I pray that you will continue with your ministry. Carol C
* * *
I just finished reading A Shred of Evidence—WOW!! I literally read the entire book in less than 24 hours! I just couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Seaport! And by the way—OUCH! and THANK YOU! for pointing out that gossip is gossip no matter how we package it. Great message—God truly spoke through the words of your book! Lisa G

Eye of the Beholder is one of your best!! I finished reading it with tears in my eyes! It really touched me in the core of my soul! I am going to have to coin a new word for you. Every time I write you I keep saying you just keep getting better and better. But now you keep getting betterer and betterer!! You even improved better!! Thanks for your work and ministry dear friend. Donna

Dear Kathy, I just finished reading A Shred of Evidence (after devouring Poor Mrs. Rigsby. Thank you so much for your delightful writing. Of course I don’t get alot of housework done when one of your books is within reach…but who cares? A Shred of Evidence really touched my spirit…I got so angry with some of the characters…and then realized that I am sometimes so much like them. Then in church this morning, our Pastor preached on “Communication”…and I got the message once again, right between the eyes. Bless you for helping us all to see the error of our ways … Bless you. Barbara Murphy
* * *
I have just finished reading Poor Mrs. Rigsby and I just loved it, I couldn’t put it down it seemed for a minute and I hadn’t read a book in some time so that must tell you how much I enjoyed reading it. I truly look forward to reading one of your next books out or one of the next ones you are planning on writing. Thanks so much. Nancy

Where do I begin? I went to my local library and asked the librarian if she knew any good authors. She said, “Kathy Herman is a great writer and her books are hard to put down once you start reading them.” I said, “okay I will give her a try.” Thank God I did. I read Tested by Fire and loved it. I rushed back to the library to get the next book. I got Day of Reckoning… it was AWESOME. I read it in less than a day. I couldn’t put it down. I went back to the library to get all of the other books in this series. They were GONE!!! Needless to say the librarian put a order on the other books so that I can pick them up and read them. I got another book by another author and I just couldn’t get into the book. THANK YOU for being such a great writer. May God bless you the way that your books are blessing me. I can’t wait to read EVERY series that you have. Your Biggest Fan, Wanda

Kathy, I have read all of the “Baxter Series” and was hooked from the very first one! You do an amazing job at bringing your characters, situations, etc. to life and teaching such wonderful lessons in the process. While the “Baxter Series” was fabulous, I dearly loved Poor Mrs. Rigsby! I thought it was your best work ever. That was until I read A Shred of Evidence. This book truly has made me stop and think of the power contained in my words. It was your great talent as a writer combined with God’s gentle tugging at my heart that caused me to stop and take a look at this area of my life and addresses the fact that it needed some refining … Thank you once again for sharing your gift with all of us, your devoted readers. Love in CHRIST, Jill L

I first read the Baxter series by accident. Someone gave me Tested by Fire thinking it was written by someone else I was looking for. Since then, I haven’t been able to put them down! Every time I see a new book coming out, I get so excited. Thank you so much for following the Spirit as God leads you in what he wants you to write. KEEP IT UP! Nicole

I have just finished reading the Baxter series. These books were a blessing and I read each one at just the right time …You have a way of putting the Christian message into words that are easy to understand. Wrennie

I just love your books. They are so inspirational. I just now got done with High Stakes and I am starting to read A Fine Line. High Stakes or Vital Signs had to be my favorites. I’m going to be so sad when I finish reading A Fine Line. I loved these books. Thank you for writing them! Rachael
* * *
I just finished reading High Stakes! I absolutely loved it. It has really made me think twice about how I treat someone because of their appearance. I don’t know which of the books is my favorite, I love them all. I am looking forward to your new series! Can’t wait! Jayna
* * *
I bought the book Vital Signs & loved it, but didn’t realize it was part of a series, so have been thoroughly enjoying them. My favorite is The Day of Reckoning. I really had a good cry over that book.. You make the characters so real and have given us readers such wisdom for our own lives. Thanks… I am so glad I have come across your books. Thanks, Christy
* * *
Kathy, Your Baxter Series is great! I read a lot. You are right up there with Terri Blackstock and Catherine Palmer in the suspense department. I loved all of the Baxter Series books. I bought all five at one time and started reading them during my week’s vacation and couldn’t stop!! The messages were very nicely woven into the story, giving the plan of salvation quite clearly without being preachy … I am excited about the Seaport Series and I’m going to go out and find Poor Mrs. Rigsby. I think I’m hooked!! Jan
* * *
The whole Baxter series is my favorite! I have never enjoyed books as much as I have these! The stories and people in your books moved me to tears and the message in each book is so wonderful. God has truly blessed you with a wonderful talent. I am so thankful my daughter shared them with me and we will continue to pass them on … I am eagerly awaiting your new series… May God richly bless you and yours. Your friend in Christ, Carolyn P

Kathy, I just read the Baxter Series, and you simply can’t write fast enough as good as these books are … It is hard to find books with a message and meaning that keep me so suspended to find out what is going to happen next! I can’t tell you enough how much I am truly inspired. The tears and prayers and hope and joy your books bring are truly a Godsend! Dena
* * *
Dear Kathy, I so much enjoy reading your books! You have a style like no other! I look forward to reading more and more of your books! Congratulations on many books well done! God Bless! Janna I

I finished the last of the Baxter Series at 1am this morning and I am so sad it’s over. I have loved everyone of the books and am really going to miss reading what happens in their lives. I enjoyed the unpredictability of the books … Also there was no main focus on romance which was fantastic as a lot of Christian novels are focused on a mushy, predictable, formula based romantic story. The way you wove Christian principles into the story was incredible.. All in all I have thoroughly enjoyed the series and can’t wait to read another one of your books. Lindi O, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa

Kathy, I read Tested by Fire earlier in the week and immediately had to go find the other three books I knew I had by you to read. The books are so good and hold my attention from start to finish. I am now a huge fan. Shelby

One day in 2003 I came across the first four books of the Baxter Series in Lifeway-Tyler. After reading the cover of the first one I bought all four and literally devoured them. I finally got the fifth one for Christmas 2003. I have never read any books quite like yours that I could not put down … Just recently I bought Poor Mrs. Rigsby and one night I stayed up till 2am reading it. Thanks and love, Pat in Canton

I have been in kind of a reading slump—I just couldn’t seem to finish books like I used to and it was very frustrating to continually buy books just to put them on the shelf unread. But Poor Mrs. Rigsby caught my eye and I thought I would take a chance on yet another Christian novel. I just finished it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was so glad to actually finish a book!!!! I like the more suspenseful novels and you have successfully written one. I have checked out Tested by Fire at my local library and can’t wait to read it and continue the series. And to know that there is another new series after that I can look forward to is also exciting! You are officially one of my new favorite authors. Pam G

Mrs. Herman, I first read your novel Tested by Fire after buying it at a garage sale. It was so good I wanted everyone to read it. It was a great example of how you feel when Jesus moves into your heart. I checked Day of Reckoning out at the library and loved it so much that I bought it so that I could highlight inspirational passages in it. I finished the rest of the Baxter series soon after. I am so thankful for you as an author. I don’t normally read or make time to but your books were better than watching TV. I just finished Poor Mrs. Rigsby, which was very suspenseful. You have a wonderful God given talent that I will tell everyone about. Thank you so much. Brandy
